ABOUT CLASSES
Juniors
Aged 7 – 10
Junior students will learn songs from their favourite musicals, creative dances, basic stagecraft skills, as well as lifelong skills like confidence, communication, and teamwork.
The musicals we produce provide excellent opportunities for some of our Juniors to gain solo singing parts, perform comedy acting roles, showcase their dancing skills, and much more. We celebrate the fact that our Juniors make many new friends during their time with us.
- It is important to be prepared for class, so we recommend the following:
- Juniors should go over any new songs, dances, and acting bits during the week leading up to class.
- Dress in comfortable clothing; in Forge Drama uniform if possible.
- Get Jazz shoes, as they are very helpful in aiding the learning of dance techniques.
- Bring water, and small, healthy snacks.
SENIORS
AGED 11+
Our musicals offer a chance for our seniors to lead shows, grow their character and solo repertoire, impress audiences with their performances, and much more.
It is important to us that our seniors always develop strong relationships with their peers through the process of rehearsing a musical.
- Seniors should prepare for class in the following ways:
- Practise new songs, dances, and acting bits in their free time during the week.
- Dress in comfortable clothing; in Forge Drama uniform if possible.
- Invest in Jazz shoes. They are very helpful in aiding the learning of dance techniques.
- Bring water, and small, healthy snacks.
Minis
Aged 4 – 6
The Minis is designed to give an introduction to performing arts through lots of games and exercises. Classes are shorter, and will focus towards performing at least one musical theatre number in our big musical each year. Minis are aged from Reception to School Year 2 (4 to 6 years old). Minis have the opportunity to “graduate” up to the Juniors, but are also more than welcome to stay as a Mini until the end of School Year 2.
- Minis should prepare for class in the following ways:
- Dress in comfortable clothing; in Forge Drama uniform if possible.
- Invest in Jazz shoes. They are very helpful in aiding the learning of dance techniques.
- Bring water, and leave all toys at home.
